We want you to enjoy yourself and not to worry about this. We understand that accidents happen. As long as you let us know if there have been any mishaps we are usually quite relaxed about it. Most things can be mended or replaced. Please see the terms and conditions below for what we expect from you.
Yes! We accept both cash or cards for payment and bank transfer too.
The price varies depending on the following:
Most costumes fall between £25 to £45. Discounts apply for multiple/group hire.
Terms & Conditions: By entering a hire arrangement with French’s Fancy Dress the customer (hirer) accepts these terms and conditions which form a contract between themselves and French’s Fancy Dress.
Advance Bookings: It is sensible to book your costumes ahead of your event to ensure availability. A deposit of 20% of the full hire fee is payable to guarantee your costume. This deposit is non-refundable, but exchanges can be made subject to availability, or a credit can be issued for future use. The minimum deposit is set at £10.
Payment: The customer authorises payment (less any deposit previously paid) to cover the agreed hire charges as stated overleaf.
Collecting: French’s Fancy Dress will provide a suitable bag or carrier. All items should be inspected before leaving the shop and any faults should be brought to the attention of French’s Fancy Dress. If an item is found to be faulty after it has left the shop and before use, it is the customer’s responsibility to inform French’s Fancy immediately, otherwise any damage will be assumed to be the responsibility of the customer and will be charged accordingly.
Responsibility: Hired items including accessories and suit bags remain the property of French’s Fancy Dress. Customers accept responsibility for the safe keeping of costumes and accessories from collection until return.
Damage & Loss: The customer agrees authorisation for French’s Fancy Dress to take a further payment up to the value of the replacement of damaged or lost costume(s) and/or accessories. French’s Fancy Dress will advise the customer of the exact amount and the decision taken by French’s Fancy Dress shall be final. Repair, replacement or any other costs will be reasonable and in line with costs incurred by French’s Fancy Dress. Copies of receipts for repair or replacement will be available on request.
Alterations: Alterations must not be carried out by the customer without prior consent. No pinning or tacking should be carried out without prior consent.
Care: Please refrain from smoking, drinking and eating if wearing a mascot style costume head or mask! Mascot ‘shoes’ are not designed to be worn outside so please only wear them indoors. All costumes must be kept away from fire.
Cleaning: Unless otherwise agreed, French’s Fancy Dress will be responsible for the cleaning of costumes on return. If items are stained or marked, this must be declared by the customer. This enables French’s Fancy Dress to use the correct procedures and products for cleaning. Stains etc can usually be removed effectively but having the correct information is important. If in the rare event, a stain cannot be removed, the item will be deemed to be damaged, and costs will apply (see above).
Returning: All hire items must be returned on or before the date agreed and in the original bag as supplied. Extra costs may be incurred if the hire period is extended without prior agreement. If changes in circumstances affect the prompt return of items, contact French’s Fancy Dress as soon as possible. If we are kept informed, and the late return does not affect other bookings for the said items, we will endeavour to waive any extra charges. If no arrangement is in place, additional hire charges will be incurred for each extra day that they are retained by the customer.
Data & Privacy: French’s Fancy Dress store your data (shown overleaf) strictly for the purposes of managing the costume hire service. French’s Fancy Dress do not share your personal data with other companies. If the customer has opted-in for marketing email or newsletters their details/data will be saved for this purpose.
